Oh so Kyle.

There are many people I cite as my style inspirations, but  none of them truly compare to the fabulous Kyle Anderson, Accessories Director at Marie Claire. It is for this reason that I thought I should post a few of my favourite outfits. I decided that this post is going to be predominantly pictures as I feel my words will not be enough to do justice to how #GLAM Kyle Anderson (@KyleEditor), Stay fabulous!

Festival Season is upon us!

As a frequent partaker, festival season is well and truly upon us and I couldn't be more thrilled. The sun, the music, the people, the memories and most importantly, THE FASHION. This year is no different to any other year with the number thing on every music loving, sun adoring festival goer is: what do I wear?!

This question has plagued me for far too many years and living in England, with its renowned bipolar weather makes it's even harder planning for an outdoor festival.

Here are a few of my top tips to be suitably fabulous for the festival fun:

1) The Golden Rule

Rule #1 for any festival is a given; 'wear things you don't mind getting a little bit dirty'. Now there's no shame in wanting to look good, as one of my favourite fashion quotes states: "people are always going to stare, make sure you give them something worth looking at". This however doesn't mean you show up in £850 Balenciaga boots and a £550 Burberry rain mac because, let's be honest, you're going to get dirty and if you don't, then you're not doing it right.

2) DO IT LIKE KATE

Kate Moss, renowned for being the Queen of the runway for many years now, is also my Queen of Festivals. Her iconic style know's no boundaries as she somehow manages to look as effortlessly cool, knee-deep in a puddle as she does on the runway. Check out her festival style below!

3) Short Shorts!

The fashion industry has seen an influx of short shorts and I for one love it. From Lanvin's menswear shows to Topshop's Spring/Summer looks, short shorts are a thing of the past, the present and the future, and they're making a comeback just in time for festival season!

Denim shorts should, in my opinion, be the first thing in any festival goers rucksack (Even before the tent!). They're easy to pack and even easier to wear with the number of outfit combinations in the hundreds!

From Isabel Marant bobby-sneakers to Hunter Wellies to Dr.Martens, the world is your runway!

4) Festival Make-up

It's important to look after yourself at festivals. Now I'm not talking about the obvious i.e. drink responsibly, stay away from harmful substances etc but more in terms of make up! It's near enough impossible to take your whole make-up kit to a festival, however, the make up 'essentials' mean ESSENTIAL. A simple moisturiser can do wonders in replenishing and revitalising your skin and trust me after 4 days of minimal sleep and greasy food, you'll be thankful to have taken it.

Another important thing is to not forget about what makes you who you are and for Cara Delevingne, one part of her that makes her stand out above the rest is her extravagant eyebrows, which she managed to maintain to her usual angel-like standard at Wireless! Festival.

5) Accessorise!

Accessories can make an outfit a million times cooler! Rings, Scarves, Hats, Sunglasses and Rucksacks, the lot! Now, they don't have to be Balenciaga five-finger rings or an Hermès scarf, but a simple piece of jewellery combined with a chic rucksack, like this one from River Island, can not only be used to carry your essentials (water, sun-tan lotion etc) but make sure that you stand out of the crowd!

Should men embrace skirts?

Marc Jacobs in Comme des Garçons
Many of you who know me personally or follow me on Twitter & Instagram will know that I've long been a fan of rocking a skirt from time to time. Is it because I like the freedom it gives me that other forms of bottomwear can't provide? Yes, but that's not the only reason why I'm an advocate of skirts for men.

As the fashion industry is changing at an ever-quickly pace, designers are taking inspiration from their womenswear ranges and donning it in their menswear collections. I first became a fan of the 'man-skirt' after watching the Givenchy SS12 & FW12 shows, where Tisci plays with traditional perceptions of luxury and pushes the boundaries of masculinity further out.

So, are skirts becoming a thing of a norm amongst the male population? Just ask Kanye West. Mr. West, who I cite as one of my favourite fashion icons, is no stranger to pushing the limits of fashion. At his 2011 Coachella performance, who chose to wear a silk blouse from the Céline SS11 womenswear collection. Kanye West is famous all over the globe for his controversial comments, his arrogant persona and his ability to make people love him when we should really hate him, but most of all, he is famous for his music. During the Watch The Throne tour, he, on more occasions that one, rocked the $355 Givenchy leather skirt and dare I say it, he pulled it off.

Over time, I think fashion has become a catalyst for transgressing social codes and in my opinion, I think the man-skirt is the next BIG thing. You don't have to be a gay fashion icon or ballin’ rapper to wear one. By allowing men to rock the skirts and dresses, I believe will inject some much needed novelty and chic-ness into the world of men's fashion, and if worn correctly, can very much assert the masculinity.

So, I ask again, should we Men embrace the skirt? Let me know in the comments!

My first blog post and an ode to Karlie.

So, 2:13am - 08/08/2013, my first blog post. At first I was thinking of something witty and exciting to comment on to really draw in you lovely fashion lovers, but then, as I my brain failed me (it's 2:13am!!), I began scouring through my Twitter feed and was informed by some lovely people that today was the day that my favourite model and current #2 on Models.com, Karlie Kloss, has just been upgraded to supermodel. The 6ft foot beauty, who just-turned 21-years-young has taken the runways by storm with her signature walk, her chiselled cheekbones and her industry renowned "Karlie" haircut. In an interview in the September Issue of Vanity Fair, Miss Kloss talks about some of the problems that come about being a supermodel and how designers won't cast her for Fashion Week shows as she is too famous and "no one will pay attention to the clothes". So, what is Karlie doing when she's not hitting the runway? Well, she is gracing the covers of Vogue and landing multi-million dollar campaigns of course!

Does Karlie even lift bro?

Happy Birthday Karlie!!
